Annette Ozolins

 

Annette Murphy Ozolins is a storyteller. She began her career as an actress in Indie films such as Star Maps, Chuck & Buck, Temptation and Race, and has worked with writers & directors such as Mike White, Miguel Arteta and David E. Kelley. Annette has also been fortunate enough to work with prominent LA theater directors at The Mark Taper Forum, Getty Center and Boston Court Theater.

Having learned the craft of storytelling from her experience as an actress, Annette began writing. Her first feature screenplay Mercy won Step Up Women’s Network’s Screenplay Competition sponsored by Zide/Perry and Sandra Bullock’s company, Fortis Films. Her second screenplay Liberty Rules is a coming-of-age story about a young girl obsessed with pro wrestling, it is optioned by Blank Slate Productions.

Annette is a published poet and is finishing an illustrated book of poetry inspired by essential oils. Some of her work can be found in The Biscuit, DU Press, Hobo Camp Review and other publications.

Annette is a graduate of Duke University with a BA in Philosophy and Women’s Studies and holds a Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from Cornell University. She lives with her family in Southern California where she spends a good part of her time in the ocean, surfing, swimming and generally appreciating Mother Nature.
